O Vestido de Lantejoulas

A satirical novel about a particular social group, frivolous and pathetic, that flaunts its ignorance and inverts life's priorities. Maria da Fé is a working-class woman who works by the day in a wealthy household, and whose joy, in contrast to her employer's neuroses, survives all adversity.
