In the tranquil village of Glennkill, shepherd George Glenn reads stories to his flock every evening – sometimes even a mystery. When he himself is found lifeless in the Irish grass, a spade in his chest, the sheep know: it was murder. But who killed the old shepherd? What was the motive? And how do you find a murderer? Determined, the sheep search for clues, led by Miss Maple, the cleverest sheep in the flock (and perhaps far and wide). Luckily, they can draw inspiration from the many stories they've heard over the years. Between the village church and the shepherd's wagon, countless riddles await them, which can only be solved with a great deal of keen intellect and sheepish sense – always hot on the trail of the culprit.
