Pensées (meaning "Thoughts") is an unfinished collection of notes and fragments by French mathematician and philosopher Blaise Pascal, published posthumously in 1670. Intended as a comprehensive defense of the Christian religion, the work explores human wretchedness, our search for meaning, the limits of pure reason, and the necessity of faith in God.
