Baudelaire

Baudelaire (1947), Jean-Paul Sartre uses existentialist psychoanalysis to examine the life and poetry of Charles Baudelaire. Sartre argues that Baudelaire's choices—including his dandyism, cultivated guilt, and embrace of a sterile "evil"—were a failed attempt to freely construct his own identity and escape bourgeois conformity.
