In the First Epistle to the Corinthians, the Apostle Paul develops a unified theology of the "body". He articulates it around three major axes: the holiness of the individual body (the temple of the Spirit), the interdependence of believers forming the Church (the Body of Christ), and the Eucharistic mystery of the shared bread.
