Dispersos

"Dispersos" is an important posthumous compilation of texts by the Portuguese writer, historian, and politician Joaquim Pedro de Oliveira Martins. The work brings together a vast selection of political, economic, philosophical, historical, and critical articles that were scattered throughout the press of the time. The texts cover a broad spectrum of 19th-century Portuguese thought, focusing on: educational problems and reforms, crises and dynamics of contemporary politics, moral and philosophical dilemmas of his generation, and Iberian and transatlantic relations.
